INTRODUCTION

• In the final of the three "The Journey Begins" BioFables books, the Maloney family completes the last four of its first year's monthly explorations.
• Mort and Agnes hesitated about accepting the gift that Mike Maloney, Mort's father, proposed as a way to share his wealth with them. Mike wanted to give his grandchildren opportunities to learn about the world in ways that neither he nor his son -- or his daughter-in-law -- had been able to experience in their childhood. Now they seem to realize what a great gift these trips had become and eagerly look forward to the adventures the next four months would bring.
• New relatives are introduced in December. It's often difficult to keep track of names and relationships, so, following the list of major players is a diagram of Agnes's Colorado family and how they are related to the twins Mallory and Melody Maloney. The ages of the children are shown in (parentheses).
• Book 3 starts with an interadventure as the Maloney family returns from the Thanksgiving project. A surprising announcement by the twins rivals an earlier surprise, and shows just how much adults can influence children.
